Lazarus Lives! John McCain for President!

You know the story of Lazarus from the bible.  Lazarus, a beloved friend of Christ, dies and is eventually brought back to life by Jesus...when performing this miracle, Jesus proclaimed: "He who believes in me will live...."

Similiarly, John McCain was left on the side of Campaign Freeway, all but dead not too long ago.  His campaign team fired, funds all but gone, and the prospect of a Presidential bid dimming like a Sanibel sunset.

But alas, he stuck to his guns and prevailed, and now look at him.  Marvel at the strength of this man.  Be awed by the power of this man's quiet convictions.  John McCain has the tenacity to fight for what he believes in.  John McCain has the strength to persevere.

Lazarus lives!  John McCain for President!

McCain 'Winds' Florida....

The winds of change are blowing, my friends.  The warm southern breezes of South Carolina and Florida are warming the hearts and thawing the conservative minds, liberal minds, black minds and white minds.

The winds of change are helping the people realize that experience matters.  These southern breezes are helping the people think, and think hard.  People are realizing that REAL, honest dedication matters.   Moderates and conservatives are beginning to board the McCain train on its trip to the White House.

Hillary is speaking right now, commenting on her 'win'  in Florida...

She says that "...one of the qualities that next President needs to have is that he or she must be a problem solver;  when the speaches are over, he needs to get up every morning, run the government, manage the economy, and dedicate himself to the task at hand.  More and more people are waking up and realizing that is this is THE most important choice for their family and their country.....and they will make the right choice."

Well said, Senator Clinton, well said.

Nobody's Afraid of Big, Bad, Bill Anymore...

Funny, isn't it?  The Democrats are no longer afraid of the Wrath o' Clintons.  To the left, Kennedy's are backing Obama...to the right, voters are supporting Obama.  And, as Bill waves his finger, and turns red in the face, Dems are finally saying what WE have been saying all along...."What an asshole, Clinton is."

It's about time, I tell ya....I loathe those Clintons, I really do.   And I will admit that I am saddened somewhat for Hillary...she's gone through a lot.  But what a nasty bunch of liberals out there, turning on their kin like this.  It is truly incedible to watch and experience....and should not be forgotten.

The funny thing is, I thought President Clinton was America's first 'black' President?  I thought he did more for blacks than an other President, EVER???  What the hell are blacks doing???  Are blacks actually playing the race card, and voting for a LESS qualified candidate based on the color of their skin?  Or, or they voting based on the content of their character?  Whichever it is, the Clintons lose....their cutthroat ways.... lying, cheating ways....have finally caught up with them.  And Obama has given strength to the party to shun Hillary and Bill.  Wow, Barak Hussein Obama is my hero!!

Seems like those dems are no longer afraid of the Big, Bad Bill.

McCain Compares Abortion to POW Treatment...

U.S. Senator Sam Brownback read the following letter on behalf of John McCain at the March for Life in Washington, D.C. on the 35th Anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade Decision.

Dear Fellow Pro-Lifers,

I join you today in marking the 35th anniversary of the tragic Roe vs. Wade decision made on January 22, 1973. I salute you for taking the time to show that the cause of Life is alive and well in the hearts of millions of Americans.

As a prisoner of war at the hands of a communist dictatorship, I saw firsthand the perils faced when human dignity and human life are not respected.

Whenever the value of one class of persons is not respected whether they are unborn, handicapped, elderly the dignity of all mankind is threatened.

For this reason, I have been a strong supporter of the right to life movement since I was first elected to Congress in 1982. As the father of seven children two of which were adopted my wife Cindy and I understand how every child has a value which can never be calculated or cheapened. Every child literally alters the course of human history.

America stands for an ideal that all people are endowed by their Creator with inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I know what it is like to live without those rights, and I have an obligation to advocate them wherever they are denied: in Bosnia or Burma, in Cuba or the Middle East; and in our own country when we fail to respect the inherent dignity of all human life, born or unborn. That is why I am pro-life.

While our nation struggles with the issue of abortion and the division it has wrought on our society and culture, Americans on both sides of this debate should agree that the proper solution for this debate to be settled is through the democratic process, not through judicial dictate. Seven judges in 1973 took the issue of abortion on themselves to settle this issue for every American, in all fifty states. They assured us that by sheer judicial will and power, the question of a so-called right to abortion was settled' and that our society would now arrive at a shared consensus by virtue of their ruling.

They were wrong to make this assumption. Your presence in Washington today marching for Life proves just how wrong they were.

If I am fortunate enough to be elected as the next President of the United States, I pledge to you to be a loyal and unswerving friend of the right to life movement. The pro-life movement appeals to the best instincts within each and every one of us. In that regard, our pro-life cause will ultimately be successful.

Thank you for the opportunity to speak to you today and please be assured of my best wishes and prayers for all those who labor for the cause of Life.

Sincerely,

John McCain

United States Senator

Chump Norris 'Too Old' to Be Taken Seriously...

I can honestly say that I have never, ever seen a Chuck Norris movie. I think he is a chump with a real 'perty' wife, a set of perfect dentures, and a funny haircut. His 68th birthday is coming up on March 10th, so that must make him too old for anything, especially, B-movies--atleast let's hope. On the one hand, he is an ardent supporter of the Republican party, and I understand his endorsement of Huckabee, being a born again Christian, and all. Yet on the other, he slams John McCain today for being too old to preside over this country.

And that is what is so baffling. Norris claims through some fuzzy mathmatical computation, that the Presidency of the United States ages a man 3 to 1. That is, President's age 3 years for every single year in office, basically a bit more than twice that of a dog's aging.

Now I will agree that being the leader of the free world is a stressful occupation. I mean, look what 8 years, er...24 years did to William Jefferson Clinton! It turned him into one crotchity old son of a bitch. Always yelling, pointing that finger at everyone....admonishing us all with his high level of self annointed rightousness. I just grunt and shake my head when I see
that knucklehead.

I think Karate Chump Norris is on to something. But his formula only pertains to liars, lunatics, leftists and liberals. Look at before and after term pictures of Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, and Bush II.  Both Bush's have certainly faired well.  Ron looks great.  Ford, too....

Look....John McCain is like a bottle of wine.  Grapes of fine stock, with roots deep so as to survive the perils and traumas of life; harvested at the perfect time; bottled and laid on it's side to mature-alone; and waiting for the perfect time to be uncorked by it's rightful owner.

....and we are the bottle opener...I can't wait for the "pop".

R.E.S.P.E.C.T in the Palmetto State....

...83% of the vote is counted in South Carolina, and we are looking at John McCain taking he state.

...88% in, 33% to 30% McCain - Huckabee.  Getting close, but the margin will hold and grow.

It must feel great for McCain, after the lashing he endured by the party in 2000.  I was a huge supporter back then, and the disappointment in South Carolina really got to me.  But, character counts.  Trust counts.  Experience counts...now.

...91%, Huckabee conceding. Good man, but not my cup of tea. If he can't do it here, he can't get the evangelical vote anywhere.

John McCain is THE Republican that can bring the party together by delivering Conservative AND Moderate Republican votes to move into the White House come January next.

...96%, still maintaining 33%-30%.  Definitely a strong 2nd place showing.

Ladies and gentleman, it seems that John McCain has finally earned a little respect from the Palmetto State!  They must have seen the light, my friends.   They must be feeling the buzz...

..97% + 14,000 votes....Democrats do not want to run against John McCain, as he is a tough horse to beat. He has the pull to get the independent vote. He has the Iraq War supporters; he has the security conscious; and now the evangelicals.

Just the Facts, Ma'am...

I could not say it better than my friend Michael Schuyler.  Please check out his blog and read the facts presented in "John McCain is a better conservative than most" located here: http://michaelschuyler.blogspot.com/2008/01/john-mccain-is-better-conservative-than.html

Returning Illegal Immigrants Overwhelming...Guess Who??

Holy Macaroni!  The border towns of Mexico are being overwhelmed with Mexican nationals returning FROM the United States.  The state of Sonora, Mexico reports that hospitals and schools are becoming crowded, and the influx of undesirables is beginning to affect the profitable tourist trade in this gorgeous seaside resort region.

The Tucson Sun reports, "In what are considered bellwethers of permanent moves back to Mexico, the Mexican consulate in Phoenix has seen a dramatic increase in applications for Mexican birth certificates, passports and other documents that immigrants living in Arizona will need to return home."

Attrition has begun, as Arizona's Employer-Sanctions Law, signed by Gov. Janet Napolitano, goes into effect.  It threatens to suspend or revoke business licenses from employers caught knowingly hiring illegal immigrants. It also requires employers to use a federal computer program to electronically verify the employment eligibility of new hires.

How sweet it is!

Wipers for Hillary...

Today, I went to my local auto parts superstore to pickup some new windshield wiper blades for the van. I was hunting around, looking around for the blades, searching, searching to no avail. I pace the whole store up and back, and cannot find the damn blades. I happened upon an older fellow perusing the aisles and sale items at the end caps. He seemed to know what the hell was going on in the store, I guessed.

I asked him if he knew where the wipers were, but he did not. Nice enough guy-NASCAR hat on his head. I finally went to the front of the store and asked the thrice pierced associate to direct me to the windshield wipers. "Aisle B." Off I go.

My "older friend" seemed to follow me to Aisle B, and as I began to compare blades, he starting chit-chatting with me...it started with the high cost of the blades-$26/pair for the winter ones that work well for me. "Jesus Christ", said he. Twenty six bucks, and they are made in China. Everything God damned thing is made in China these days! It's all junk...all poison. And we are losing jobs left and right to those bastards."

He went on to comment about getting and keeping a job in the U.S.A,; and how one has to get an education these days. But the kids can't really afford it you see, as it costs so much. So they borrow all that money just to get the education, which is supposed to give a leg up in the job market...yada, yada, yada. I interjected as best I could, but I was somewhat preoccupied with my blade selection.

On and on it went, and I was truly enjoying the banter for sure. I was agreeing with my new friend on many, if not all points. I finally said, "What do you think about the Presidential races? Well, my buddy then went into a diatribe about how you can't trust any of them; how the politicians want to spend-spend-spend away our futures; and how the Democrats just want to give it all away. Illegal immigration, amnesty...all the buzz topics. On and on he went, bitchin' and moanin' about everything. Again, I was loving it...a Republican voter for sure I thought. For the record, I can sit in a bus station all day long and chit-chat with folks. It really pisses off the wife (very type "A" personality, don't waste your time smelling the flowers type "A").

"Well friend", what do you think about John McCain?", to which his reply was simply, AND I QUOTE, "Oh, I'll probably vote for Clinton." Flabbergasted...dumbfounded, I grabbed my blades, bid him farewell, and gave my tender to the pierced one. I then left the twilight zone and drove to Boston.

John McCain Statement on Michigan Primary...

Read John McCain's Christmas Card - and His Core Values...

This was a simple mailing sent to supporters, or Republican voters I guess up here in New Hampshire. It is a strong piece, and I hope it went everywhere. It reads:

"As a POW, my captors would tie my arms behind my back and then loop rope around my neck and ankles so that my head was pulled between my knees. I was often left like that throughout the night.

One night a guard came into my cell. He put his finger to his lips signaling for me to be quiet, and then loosened the ropes to relieve my pain. The next morning, when his shift ended, the guard returned and retightened the ropes, never saying a word to me.

A month of so later, on Christmas Day, I was standing in the dirt courtyard when I saw that same guard approach me. He walked up and stood silently next to me, not looking or smiling at me. After a few moments had passed, he rather nonchalantly used his sandaled foot to draw a cross in the dirt. We stood wordlessly looking at the cross, remembering the true light of Christmas, even in the darkness of a Vietnamese prison camp. After a minute or two, he rubbed it out and walked away.

That guard was my Good Samaritan. I will never forget that man and I will never forget that moment. And I will never forget that, no matter where you are, no matter how difficult the circumstances, there will always be someone who will pick you up and carry you.

May you and your family have a blessed Christmas and Happy Holidays,

John McCain."

THE Conservative That Can WIN in the Fall...

Looking down the road a ways, who is going to be able to beat the Clinton Machine? We all know that this country is split pretty much down the middle, with respect to those that actually get off their ass and vote.

Tonight, Romney pulled out a big win in his 'real' home state--much expected, yet chagrined.  But next is South Carolina, a military state and a military candidate...not a guy that plays one on TV.  McCain is the only guy that can trumpet the Conservative message in Washington and actually WIN the ultimate contest.  There is no other Republican candidate that can beat Hillary Clinton.

John McCain is Ahead of Mike Huckabee by 8-15% Nationally

According to usaelectionpolls.com, John McCain is head of Huckabee 8-15%. ABC polling reports an 8% delta, while 15% is reportered at CBS. You can view the polls at under our "interesting links" section.

Tomorrow is a huge day for McCAIN and Romney. In the same polls, Mitt trails John by 9 and 25 points, respectively!

Sydney's Vicious Hangover on Primary Day...

So by now you still haven't heard about Sidney Blumenthal, Clinton's vicious attack mongrel, getting busted primary morning, right in my very own neighborhood for "allegedly" speeding and drunk driving.

You also don't know that Greeley Park (pictures soon), is right in the middle of a residential area where I walk my dog, bike my kids, and live. Going 70mph through here is just plain dangerous.

The funny thing is that even I, always working hard at 12:30AM, and within earshot of the speeding demon, did not even hear the cover up of this event. I wonder how it would have affected the Clinton voters had it hit the national news as it should have.

Our local paper's headline only read:

Published: Saturday, January 12, 2008
Clinton adviser arrested in Nashua

...even the Press was too intimidated to report the truth on Primary Day.

Nashua Police Sgt. Mike Masella, one of the arresting officers, in an attempt to understand Sydney's liqour infused explanation, said Blumenthal admitted he was "lost." No surprise here.

I wonder who bailed him out 5AM on Primary Day? Sadly, Hillary never mentioned this at her 'NH Victory Party" later that same evening.

Putin's Pick for President - "P-Cubed"...

When you think of the upcoming elections for President of the Unites States, ask yourself this....

Who do you think Vladimir Putin would pick as President of these United States of America? For that matter, who would Ahmadinejad , HU Jintao, Lt. Gen. Umar Hassan Ahmad al-BASHIR, MUSHARRAF, the ruling family of Saudi Arabia, King ABDALLAH II, the Al Saud family, Bashar al-ASAD , or Idriss Déby, the President of Chad like as President of the Free World?

Let's see...I'm thinkin' they would love to be able to smack around the political virgin, Barack Obama....of course, Hillary would be a good second choice, as none of the aforementioned leaders respect women all that much. Edwards....well, he's busy trying to find his "two Americas". There's only one, John. Unless you count South America, I guess.

Seriously, ask yourself how these leaders would judge each and every Presidential candidate...Obama, Hillary, Huckabee, Edwards, Romney, Thompson, Paul, Guiliani and ultimately McCAIN. Maybe Rudy for VP.

Throw terrorists into the mix, and then look at a picture of your family, your kids.

I'll take the piss and vinegar, guts and glory candidate, thank you very much.

Teach...your children well..

So, again from my local polling place this morning while signholding for McCAIN.

A teacher brings out her first grade classroom to view the election spectacle happening right outside their windows today. Up they walk, wide-eyed and staring at the signs, satellite news trucks and all. The teacher showed them the election boundary sign, and then walked the kids to a few of the candidate signholders.

At the Obama sign, she kept asking "now which candidate can make history tonight?" to which the kids scream out: "first black President Obama! Rock On Obama!" She then asks "which candidate can also make history this election?", and a cute little girl raises her hand and proclaims that if Hillary is elected, she would be the first female President of the United States.

Now, anyone that's broken bread with me, knows that I am a bit hard of hearing. I am the "what did he say???" guy around here. But I did not hear teacher ask the first graders which candidate, if elected, would be the first POW ever elected President?; or which candidate would be the first Mormon President?; or which candidate helped heal a city devastated by Islamic terrorism?

I guess that was not important enough to teach our children. Vote for the best candidate for the job, and let Guiness worry about the record book.

Wal-Mart boots...

My polling place here in Nashua is my neighborhood school. I so enjoy holding a sign at my polling place to see friends and neighbor's...bust some chops, and meet the supporters of the other canidates. But this election, I couldn't help from noticing the many outsiders. Sometime you tell an outsider by the cheap, recently purchased Wal-Mart winter boots that were styled by someone in Pakistan. The lack of any salt line was the clincher. These folks 'were not from around heyah'.

I'd ask where they were from and got: Virginia, Boston, Arkansas, and Washington. There were lots of folks from Arkansas that sported a southern accent. Hillary supporters all. They were holding 'Arkansas Traveler' signs or something like that, to express their pride and sacrifice for Hillary. But, boy oh boy, they HATE Huckabee...called him a lazy, no good oaf that sat in his corner office for more than 10 years and did absolutely nothing....a real slacker.

I asked how he got to have such a strange number of years in office (10.5 years), and the Arkansan explained that "when "Dear Billy" resigned to serve the country in '92, Lt. Governor Jim Guy Tucker took over. Then, in 1996 after Jim Guy was railroaded (read convicted of fraud, Whitewater related), Lt. Governor Mike Huckabee, a damn Republican, was sworn in...and did not get a damn thing accomplished."

Huckabee in turn, actually served out his term, and you know the rest of the story. What a slacker.

Obam~Obama~Rama! Global warming, nuclear style...

Some friends of mine are voting for Barack Hussein Obama. Good for them...but it puzzles me. I mean Barack is certainly passionate, exciting, hopeful, handsome, articulate, and inspirational. He is also inexperienced, young, inexperienced, and, uh, way too young to run my country. During the neighborhood Christmas parties, folks were professing their love and support for Obama. I can't figure it out.

The feel good, hope stuff is nice to think about, but I do not need the government to give me hope; I do not need the President to make me feel good, and I do not have the need Barack to tell me how to be a good father~~my Dad taught me that.

Keep me safe, get me oil, pickup my trash and fix my potholes.

Maybe some folks feel that standing for Obama equates to stamping out racism. A feel good vote that shows that this citizen is above the others. I'm not buying it.

Black, red, yellow, or white; Jew, Gentile, Catholic or Morman --it does not matter to me. Character and experience matters. I think Barack is too inexperienced to lead this country, especially in these trying times. The Edwards/Clinton/Obama crap of: two Americas, uninsured children, global warming, gay marriage, big oil, no oil, imported oil, high taxes, change, real change, end the war, pull the troops, blah, blah, blah...is just icing on the cake, as far as I am concerned. Security, terrorism, porous borders, Iran, Iraq, China, Pakistan and their nukes are situations that if not handled precisely from a position of strength, will make all other points moot. Global warming, nuclear style.

Mitt's great, but McCain needs no on the job training...

I went this morning to see Mitt Romney at one of his "Ask Mitt Anything" events. I must say that this guy is something.  He is energetic, positive, and as my youngest son says, "has great hair."  I believe he is an innovator, a moderator, and can get things done.  I also believe he would make a great President.

But enough about Mitt.  I still believe that John McCain, however, is the best candidate for the current and future security of this country--and that, my friends is the MOST important issue facing us today.  McCain is a spending hawk, a patriot, and privy to the inner workings of the government.  He has sacrificed like no other candidate in the race.  He is uncorruptable, committed, and strong willed.  Period.

Day one, John can sit behind the desk in the Oval Office, sharpen his pencil and get to work.  He already knows were the bathrooms are.

Could we see a McCain-Romney ticket, with John taking the first four years, and Mitt running in 2012?

Anatomy of a political yard sign...

Last night, while watching Chris M. of MSNBC fame sleep through the Republican debate at St. Anselms College, I pondered the importance of this little state on this huge election.  There I was, amongst beautiful people, locals and yocals, newsmen and politicians, children and a future first ladies.

At the debate's conclusion, moderator Charlie Gibson had the Democrats enter the stage to greet the departing Republicans, and my buddy commented to "enjoy the show, as one of these ten folks on stage will be our next president."

I was one of the 500 or so folks lucky enough to be in the audience.  In NH, we've got some 1.3M folks here in the state, and just less than 500k are expected to cast a ballot. Retail politics at it's best, and the politicians know it.  They all have a real appreciation for what this state can do to launch a candidate into overdrive.

Iowa is nice enough...corn shucking, neighborly meetings, strong arming, open neighborly debates where everyone knows who supports who.  In New Hampshire it's a tad different.

Some folks will put up a yard sign, bumper sticker, hold coffees, and house parties...but most keep their decision private, unknown to the pollsters, neighbors, friends and even spouses.

Most do not want a sign in their yard to chagrin their good friend and neighbor.  They will study, cheer for, and support their candidate ever so privately.

Not me.  I have always displayed my support for national contests on the front lawn and the rear bumper of the car, but for the locals.  Until about four years ago, when young man running for State Rep I believe, stopped by when I was herniating my disc with a big old piece of New Hampshire granite.  Off came the work gloves, and we shook hands.  This fellow explained his positions, and convinced ME to put HIS sign on MY yard....this was a first for a local election.  Up went the sign, and down went his campaign.

During the 2004 national elections, I had a Bush sign in the yard of my little brick house.  Across the way, a proud bank founder's son had a Kucinich sign. Fair enough.  Up here in New Hampshire, we are meeting the candidates at our neighbor's homes....very neat, up close and personal, and really truly amazing.  I am also fond of debating, may attempt to convert you, but always respect their decisions.

This banker's son invited me over to his home to meet Kucinich, and I took him up on it.  The NY Times reporters were there, interviews were taken, and questions were asked....another NH Primary house party comes and goes.

Months later, on the morning after Bush's re-election victory, my neighbor was loading some firewood into his wheelbarrow, and I politely, perhaps smugly, commented across the street something like "Boy, some election last night, huh?"  This guy was fuming, the banker's son, proud to have broken ranks with his Republican roots, could not even lift his head and look at me.  I mean, I was the neighbor he liked the most!  I was the neighbor that would snowblow his driveway, I was the neighbor that would help them identify friend versus foe garden plants??  I thought I was a friend??  My wife and I attended their wedding, for God's sake!

I could feel the disgust...the anger, the hatred for me, and voters like me, that I have never felt before.... all over a stupid political sign, a Republican sign, a Bush sign in my yard.

What a jerk, I thought.  I would never treat a supporter of any party this way....especially a neighbor and friend.  His disgust consumed him, and eventually they moved out west where there were "more people like them" (his words, not mine).  Off they went to a quaint little town, 45 miles west of this "closed minded, brainwashed Republican" (again, his words, not mine).
